
Admittedly, I've always been a little on the fence about memberships and when I first opened Well Rested Massage I wasn't sure if I'd offer them. I had worked at companies that sold memberships and while sometimes they were fantastic, other times they could become a real pain in the neck which is not exactly the vibe at Well Rested Massage.
My intention when opening Well Rested Massage was to create a quiet, cozy space for clients to come rest, relax and recover. The last thing I wanted was to stress anyone out with complicated memberships or to appear as a snake oil salesperson. Quite honestly, sales aren't really my forte. I'm uncomfortable trying to convince someone to do something they don't want to do and I don't want to abuse my power as a Massage Therapist to convince you to buy something you don't actually want.
However, I've had quite a few clients ask me about memberships lately and I allowed myself to question whether or not I was being too rigid about the idea of memberships; I wondered if maybe it was possible for everyone to get what they wanted so I decided to allow myself to entertain the idea of memberships at Well Rested Massage. After all, if clients were asking for them, there is obviously a need and I want nothing more than for my clients to have their needs met.
I knew if I was going to offer a membership, it would have to be on my terms. It would need to be uncomplicated, flexible, user-friendly, and most importantly, I'd need to feel GOOD in my gut about offering it to clients.
I don't want to trap anyone, I don't want the terms and conditions to be too confusing and I don't want anyone to feel like they can't see me unless they're a member. Everyone is welcome at Well Rested Massage.
I decided that I'd offer memberships for all of my session lengths. You can choose a 60, 75, 90, or 120-minute membership and you can share it with one friend or family member! If you can't make it in for some reason that month, they can take your place. Or if you can make it in but they also want a massage, they can purchase a session at the member rate!
There will be a member-exclusive benefit each month. Whether it's a free gift or money off an additional session...who knows what your mystery gift will be? It'll always be something valuable and available only to members as a special thanks from me to you!
Members will be able to purchase gift certificates (for themselves or others) at the member rate.
Unfortunately, if you are unable to use your session within 30 days of issue, it will expire and will not roll into the next month so make sure you schedule your monthly appointments and stick to them! The reason I chose to not allow the sessions to roll over is because it's too easy to keep putting off your massage and before you know it end up accruing several sessions that you can't use. The expiration date holds you a little more accountable and ensures you'll make it in for your monthly massage.
Life happens and sometimes unexpected expenses are dropped on us. While I wholeheartedly believe that you should make yourself the number one priority, I also don't want your massage membership to be the reason you couldn't pay your light bill. If you need to suspend your account for any reason, just reach out! I'm happy to stop payments for up to 3 months at a time.
If you need something a little longer term or a little more permanent, you can absolutely cancel your membership. I ask for 14 days' notice of cancelation in writing to cancel your account but I'll never argue with you or force you to remain a member if it's not working out. I understand that sometimes commitment can be tough, so therefore you're not committed to me! A membership to WRM should make your life easier, not harder!
And hey, no hard feelings if things don't work out! You absolutely do not have to be a member to visit Well Rested Massage. I'll be happy to see you regardless of your status!
