Returning to My Roots: What’s Next for Well Rested Massage

When I opened Well Rested Massage, my mission was simple: to create a space where people could come to restore, rebuild, and recover. I’ll never forget that first room. Just big enough for my massage table, with barely any room to turn around. It was cozy, warm, and full of heart. I loved it. But eventually, I realized I wanted to do more.

That little room couldn’t hold classes. I couldn’t bring on other therapists. I felt inspired to grow, to expand, and to help more people, but I’d outgrown my space. So when I found my current location, it felt like fate. I signed the lease with so much excitement and a big vision for the future.

I brought on my first teammate, Courtney, as soon as I could. I’d known her for a while and admired her work and passion for massage. Her approach is so different from mine. She’s my go-to for trigger point and sports massage, and her work with the Railers is just one example of how awesome she is. She was the perfect complement to what I offer, and she continues to be an essential part of our team.

In February, I hired three more amazing therapists, and while their time with Well Rested was brief, their presence made a meaningful impact. The truth is, massage therapy can be a transient field. It’s a career path that many of us explore at different phases of life. Sometimes we find our long-term home; other times, it’s a stepping stone. I’m deeply grateful for the work those therapists did here and for the clients they served. Their time with us mattered.

As Well Rested grew, I started to realize something important: in order to effectively manage a larger team, I’d have to step way back from being a massage therapist myself. I’d need to be less hands-on with clients and more behind the scenes, handling operations, schedules, trainings, and all the other parts that come with running a bigger business. And while that model works for some, it doesn’t work for me.

I became a massage therapist because I love connecting one-on-one. I love the relationships I’ve built with my clients, and I want to continue doing that work. That’s where my heart is.

So-I’m restructuring.

I’m scaling back the size of my team, not because things went wrong, but because I’ve realized what I want most is to be in the room, doing the work I love. I’m excited to be stepping back into that role more fully, while still maintaining the incredible team I have now: Erin, Pauline, and Courtney.

Erin offers deeply relaxing Swedish massage with a gentle, intuitive touch that helps clients fully unwind. She also offers Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), bringing a soft, supportive approach to those seeking lighter therapeutic work. Her presence adds a calm and peaceful energy to the space that clients truly appreciate.

Pauline brings a whole different kind of healing to Well Rested. She offers Reiki, Reflexology, and Champissage, and is currently in school to become a licensed massage therapist. While she doesn’t offer massage just yet, the work she does offer is incredibly impactful. Her sessions are deeply grounding, and she holds space for clients in a way that feels both gentle and powerful. We’re so lucky to have her on our team during this chapter of her journey.

Each of these women brings something unique and essential to Well Rested, and I feel so lucky to work alongside them.

And I’m thrilled to share that I’ll also be welcoming a new massage therapist into our space very soon. While I won’t be announcing who she is just yet (that’s her news to share!), I can tell you that she’s renting her own treatment room and operating her own business. We’re two independent practices under one roof, but we share the same core values and vision. I’m over the moon to be collaborating with someone who aligns so closely with what Well Rested is all about.

Collaboration has always been at the heart of what I do, and I’m excited to keep growing in connection; not by managing a big team, but by creating a space where like-minded practitioners can thrive alongside each other.

Looking back, I’m so glad I took the leap to grow. I’m proud of what I tried and what I learned. And now, I’m equally glad to return to what was working! To simplify, reconnect, and keep doing the work I love most.

To all of you who’ve been on this journey with me: thank you! Whether you’ve been here since the cozy little room or just found Well Rested last week, your support means the world.

Here’s to what’s next.
