When people hear the word reflexology, their minds often go straight to “foot massage.” And while it’s true that reflexology often involves the feet, it’s so much more than a simple foot rub. At Well Rested Massage, reflexology is a deeply relaxing, therapeutic experience that supports the whole body—and we’re thrilled to offer this service with Certified Wellness Practitioner Pauline.

So, what is reflexology, really?

Reflexology is a form of bodywork based on the idea that specific points on the feet correspond with different systems, organs and structures within the entire body. This corresponding relationship is called a 'reflex.' A reflex is when a stimulation at one point brings about a response in another point or area. By gently stimulating these points, using special pressure techniques, we can encourage the body to release tension, restore balance, and support its natural healing processes.

As a holistic therapy reflexology shares an approach to health and healing common to other complementary disciplines such as homeopathy, naturopathy, herbal medicine and acupuncture.

And while some reflexology techniques can feel intense, that’s not the experience you’ll have at Well Rested Massage.

Unlike some places where practitioners apply firm or even painful pressure to activate reflex points, Pauline takes a gentler approach.

Her technique is subtle, soothing, and deeply intentional. She works with the nervous system—not against it—so the body can relax, respond, and heal. Many clients are surprised by how powerful such a light touch can be.

Pauline’s reflexology sessions are designed to support not just physical health, but emotional and energetic well-being too. Clients often leave feeling lighter, more grounded, and more in tune with their bodies. It's a beautiful complement to massage, chiropractic care, or simply your own wellness routine.

If you're curious about reflexology or looking for a deeply nurturing experience, we invite you to book a session with Pauline. Whether you're dealing with chronic stress, sleep issues, or just need a moment to reset, reflexology might be the missing piece in your self-care puzzle.
